Post-Graduate students from PG School ICAR-IARI along with Professor, PGR, got an opportunity to visit the Milleninium Seed Bank, Wakehurst Place and Royal Botanic Garden, Kew, United Kingdom under the NAHEP-CAAST World Bank funded project from September 2 to 7, 2019. The short visit was planned to expand the knowledge base of the students about conservation of wild species of nature. The Millennium Seed Bank has one of the world’s largest and the most diverse wild plant species collection i.e. about 2.3 million in seed collection bank. Through the exposure to research facilities and programmes conducted at Kew has diversified the skill-set of the students for future research programmes. Visit to Jordell Laboratory, one of the oldest, largest and the most important reference collection site with about 800,000 fungi collection and world’s largest Herbarium was really an enlightening experience for the students.
